Give Heed unto the Word of The Lord

Book of Mormon Marriage And Family Study

1 Nephi 15: 25- “Wherefore, I, Nephi, did exhort them to give heed unto the word of the Lord.”

“True doctrine, understood, changes attitudes and behavior. The study of the doctrines of the gospel will improve behavior quicker than a study of behavior will improve behavior.” President Boyd K. Packer

In ignorance, we can’t be saved or have a celestial marriage and family.

We are counseled from scripture and living prophets to read and study the best books. The Holy Ghost unites hearts better than anything, and the Book of Mormon creates the best discussion for couples and families.

Other good books are also worth our time.

Sitting around talking about good books is so much better than watching TV.

“Feasting on the word of God each day is more important than sleep, school, work, television shows, video games, or social media. You may need to reorganize your priorities to provide time for the study of the word of God. If so, do it!” Elder Richard G. Scott

When we want to talk to God we pray, but when we want God to talk to us we read the scriptures.

Elder Maxwell said, “To those who have eyes to see and ears to hear, it is clear that the Father and the Son are giving away the secrets of the universe.”
