Prideful Men Are Passive

How Pride Can Corrupt a Man

Book of Mormon Marriage And Family Study

1 Nephi 14:2 – “And harden not their hearts against the Lamb of God.”

“The proud cannot accept the authority of God giving direction to their lives. They pit their perceptions of truth against God’s great knowledge, their abilities versus God’s priesthood power, their accomplishments against His mighty works.” Ezra Taft Benson; Beware of Pride

Some people will only act when prompted by the Spirit and have to be commanded in all things.

The proud don’t realize why they are here on earth. However, this is an easy problem to fix. The Book of Mormon teaches with more frequency about Jesus Christ, His Atonement and the Plan of Salvation than the Bible. With the Book of Mormon, our children should never be confused about who Jesus Christ is, what He can do and the Plan of Salvation.

The Lord needs men to be leaders and who will act and not be passive. Additionally, passive men are not attractive to women. Passive men don’t provide, protect or preside. Passive men don’t fight evil.

Pride and a hard heart makes men passive.
