How To Receive From God

Asking Is A Law For Receiving

The Presidents Of The Church Series: Joseph Smith

Joseph Smith said, “Remember that without asking we can receive nothing; therefore, ask in faith, and ye shall receive such blessings as God sees fit to bestow upon you.”

Your prayers are more powerful when you pray with confidence. Joseph taught virtue is one important element to back your prayers up with power. The Book of Mormon also teaches that service is another and says that your prayers are in vain without serving your neighbor. The prophets have taught that personal righteousness is how you gain power and influence with God.

Joseph stressed the importance of being plain and simple when you pray. Specific prayers are better than general prayers. Heavenly Father wants you to check in with Him on a regular basis. He wants you to talk with Him about what is on your mind and in your heart. Pour out your heart to Him and don’t hide anything from Him. Share with your Heavenly Father what is really on your mind and in your heart. He wants to know your desires and goals and the specific things you want to accomplish in life.
