Heavenly Father Reveals His Gospel In Every Dispensation

Gospel Basics Series

God has called prophets in our day as a great gift of His love. He gave them His priesthood, which is the power and authority to act in His name for the salvation of the world. The prophets receive revelation from God, who in turn teaches it to the world. They are special witnesses of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the core of their teachings and witness.

The prophets record their teachings in sacred and holy books called scriptures. God’s plan for us is the gospel of Jesus Christ. The most important and critical part of the plan is the atonement of Jesus Christ. We receive eternal life because of the atonement.

Eternal life is to have God’s kind of life and is available to all who live for it. To qualify for eternal life requires that we have faith in Jesus Christ, repent and be baptized by immersion for the remission of sins, receive the gift of the Holy Ghost and endure to the end.

Everyone born to earth was blessed with the gift of agency. Agency is a gift of God that no man can take away. Agency means we can accept the gospel or reject it. God will not force us to believe. If you choose God and His gospel taught by the prophets you are blessed.

God called the prophets as stewards to oversee His kingdom here on earth. Adam was the first prophet. When the dispensations reject God and His prophet’s apostasy occurs where there is no priesthood and no prophets to reveal to mankind God’s will. Adam taught the gospel to his posterity; however, eventually they rejected the gospel. The cycle of the Old Testament began of dispensations rejecting God, and God calling a new prophet to start it over again. Each prophet received direct communication from God.

Every dispensation eventually rejected God because they rejected His prophets and fell away into apostasy.
