Jesus Christ "Is of More Importance Than They All"

Nothing Is More Important Than Jesus Christ

The Things Of My Soul

Atonement Series

Alma 7:7 “and behold, there is one thing which is of more importance than they all- for behold, the time is not far distant that the Redeemer liveth and cometh among his people.” (Book of Mormon)

One of the greatest tests of this life is to discover what is the most important.

The entire Plan of Salvation and happiness revolves around Jesus Christ. In fact, He is the plan; therefore, nothing in this world or in eternity is more important than Him. For instance, gaining eternal life is the greatest gift we can receive. Eternal life is to live the same kind of life that God lives, and that is only possible through Christ.

This earth life is a test, and what we do about the distractions especially the technology is a real trial of character. There are a huge amount of shallow and superficial (vain) things that could engulf our time and attention. Vain things will give us NO divine strength or power. Consequently, God wants to know where our true loyalties lie, and how we spend our time proves it.

Elder Maxwell (who unfortunately has passed away) has recently opened my mind to the importance of time when he said; “I thank Him (Jesus Christ) for His marvelous use of time, for never misusing a moment, including the moments of meditation. Even his seconds showed his stewardship.” Jesus of Nazareth, April 1976 General Conference.

The Plan of Salvation is the plan Heavenly Father designed for us to return home to Him and the Savior with our families. If we inherit the top level of the Celestial Kingdom we continue to procreate as we do now. Additionally, in that kingdom we will be able to create worlds without end, and become Gods.

The Plan of Salvation is the path to becoming like our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and it is all made possible only because of the atonement of Jesus Christ.

Without His atonement nothing good would be possible, let alone becoming God’s ourselves.

Every gift and blessing we receive comes through Jesus Christ. He is our perfect example in all things. He lived a perfect life, who was obedient in all things. His example showed us how to also have divine strength. Jesus relied completely on the strength of His Heavenly Father. The Lord knew His tremendous power came by relying solely on God The Father. His example of humility is also how we earn the grace, which is the enabling power of God.

The way to the Father is through the Son. Jesus Christ was and is our Redeemer; therefore our reliance must be on Him.
