Keep The Sabbath Day Holy
August 05, 2013

Sunday Is A Sacred And Holy Day And One That Can Give You Greater Spiritual Power

Gospel Basics Series: The Commandments

How we keep the Sabbath day is a representation of our commitment to Jesus Christ and our desire to keep our covenants.

The Sabbath is a day to attend church and partake of the sacrament. It is a time to review your life and do some self introspection. It should be a day of rest from work and a day to avoid shopping, attending sporting events and other common recreational activities such as boating, fishing etc. My intent here is not to lay out the letter of the law but only the spirit of the law.

The spirit of the law is to make Sunday’s a special day to reconnect with God and remember the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ and figure out how to apply the atonement to your life in a greater manner.

The commandment to keep the Sabbath day holy does not apply only to individuals. God expects the community, and the nation to keep it, and when they don’t negative consequences follow. All aspects of life are negatively affected in the community and nation by breaking this law.

Your life will be filled with joy and peace by keeping the Sabbath day holy.
