Help Your Family Love The Commandments Of God

How To Protect Your Family From Satan

Book of Mormon Marriage And Family Study

1 Nephi 15: 30- “the justice of God did also divide the wicked from the righteous;…”

How can you help your family love the commandments of God, and eagerly do His will? Why is this important? This is important because safety, protection and deliverance is in obedience to God. He cannot lie and we bind Him when we do what He says. That is why families must be obedient to God, because it will protect and save your family.

“I, the Lord, am bound when ye do what I say; but when ye do not what I say, ye have no promise.” D&C 82:10

More and more people care less about God and trample His commandments under their feet.

Waste and wear out your life working to convert your family to Christ. This conversion will infuse your family with the desire for commandments. Therefore, the spirit (Holy Ghost) is your most important help. Only the spirit converts. Don’t feed your family empty calories; for example, junk food, processed food and almost all fast food and much of the restaurant food harms the body. Most of it is not real food. It doesn’t nourish and heal the body. Real food is medicine to the body.

Likewise, the world offers a lot of spiritually empty calories. Most entertainment even religious movies in my opinion are the equivalent of processed food. Why? Have you ever thought deeply about anything specific as you watched a movie even if it was a religious movie? I am not suggesting that you should never watch religious movies. What I am saying is when you want to give your family a spiritual feast, focus on the printed word of God in a way that allows them to ponder slowly (think deeply), deliberately and so you can discuss together. Nobody talks during movies and that is another reason why I say use movies sparingly.

The Book of Mormon is the opposite of fake food. This book is medicine to the soul, and has heavy doses of the spirit. The Book of Mormon is heavy doses of the spirit.
