If You Want To Save The World Save The Family

Book of Mormon Marriage And Family Study

1 Nephi 20: 22

“There is no peace saith the Lord unto the wicked.”

President Boyd K. Packer said;

“The ultimate purpose of every teaching, every activity in the Church is that parents and their children are happy at home, sealed in an eternal marriage, and linked to their generations.

The ultimate purpose of the adversary, who has “great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time,” is to disrupt, disturb, and destroy the home and the family. Like a ship without a rudder, without a compass, we drift from the family values which have anchored us in the past. Now we are caught in a current so strong that unless we correct our course, civilization as we know it will surely be wrecked to pieces.” The Father And The Family, April 1994 General Conference

What is the current that will lead to the destruction of civilization? No nation can survive if most of the families are dysfunctional. For example, nations are forced to spend tremendous amounts of money and resources to deal with the consequences of failed families.

President Russell M. Nelson said;

“In a coming day, only those men who have taken their priesthood seriously, by diligently seeking to be taught by the Lord Himself, will be able to bless, guide, protect, strengthen, and heal others. Only a man who has paid the price for priesthood power will be able to bring miracles to those he loves and keep his marriage and family safe, now and throughout eternity.”

It is impossible to find peace, joy, or happiness in sin.

Everyone wants peace in the home and I think our goal must be much more peace. We should strive for power. We want marriages and families where God’s power is there in great glory. Therefore, we owe it to ourselves, wives and children to repent and shun sin and modern idolatry.

Serious and chronic sin turns us into a shell of a man; therefore unable to feel and incapable of building real love.
