The Law of Tithing Will Bless You With Temporal And Spiritual Blessings, Your Needs Will Be Met

Gospel Basics Series: The Commandments

Tithing is an ancient law originating from the Old Testament. You will find that tithing is a great blessing. Church members who pay tithing find that somehow their needs are met. You build the kingdom of God by paying tithing.

Jesus Christ promises you both spiritual and temporal blessings if you pay your tithing. In Malachi 3:10 the Lord said He would “open…the windows of heaven, and pour… out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”

Tithing is defined as one tenth of your increase. The common practice is giving one tenth of the income (money) that you make to the Lord. The Lord and the church regards your hard earn tithing money as sacred. They don’t spend it frivolously. Tithing is an outward sign of faith and obedience. Those who do not pay tithing rob God. Everything you have God gave it to you, so everything we have really belongs to Him.

The church uses your tithing donation to build and operate chapels and temples. Tithing does not pay salaries for local church leaders. The apostles and prophets decide how tithing is used.
