Authentic Happiness Is Not Found In Pleasure Or Having Fun. Authentic Happiness Is Found In Seeking After And Finding Jesus Christ

"True, enduring happiness, with the accompanying strength, courage, and capacity to overcome the greatest difficulties, will come as you center your life in Jesus Christ. Obedience to His teachings provides a secure ascent in the journey of life. That takes effort. While there is no guarantee of overnight results, there is the assurance that, in the Lord's time, solutions will come, peace will prevail, and happiness will be yours." The Atonement Can Secure Your Peace And Happiness; Elder Richard G. Scott

True And Enduring Happiness

Authentic happiness is found only in seeking after Jesus Christ. There is tremendous power in His name. The scriptures teach that Jesus was a man acquainted with grief and sorrow. He was betrayed by one of His apostles. Elder Holland in a powerful conference talk discussed how Christ's journey to the cross was done alone. The Book of Mormon teaches that Christ suffered greater pains and afflictions than any other man. It is a major understatement to say that Christ's mortal life was anything but easy.

When the rulers spit in His face, He loved back. When they mocked Him, He returned love. When the masses cried out crucify Him, He still loved them. When Christ was whipped by a whip with sharp objects woven in designed to shred the flesh, His love was not lessened. When He was on the cross paying for your and my sins all over again, He asked God The Father to forgive them because they didn't know what they were doing.

Other than when Christ was on the Cross, Christ always had the spirit with Him. The loss of His Fathers spirit literally broke His heart. Jesus was constantly and naturally drawn to His Father. He didn't need anything to shake up His world to cause Him to direct his thoughts and attention to Heavenly Father.Authentic happiness is inward not external.

Authentic happiness comes from seeing yourself the way God sees you. The power of having the gift to see yourself (and others) the way God sees you gives you greater strength to make a difference in the world. The relationship with yourself defines in great measure how you serve others.

Christ has not promised the peace of the world, which is a world without violence. Christ has promised His peace. His peace is happiness in your own heart, regardless of environmental influences. Christ can give you happiness even when the world is in chaos and seems to be falling apart. It is done through His gospel.

The Capacity To Overcome The Greatest Difficulties

Authentic happiness is found in overcoming great challenges and moving mountains of problems. There is no condition too low that Christ can't reach. There is a reason why Christ descended below all things, so He would know how to fix and overcome all things. His atonement is incomprehensible. He knows how to be happy.

Christ can bring light to the darkest soul. He specializes in bringing hope to the most depressed, discouraged and dejected person.
