Teachings of The Seventy And Other General Authorities


The Seventy have apostolic authority but are not apostles. The Lord also called Seventy in his time, See Luke 10:1. They are also especial witness of Jesus Christ. They are assigned specific areas in the world.

President Boyd K. Packer the president of the Quorum of The Twelve Apostles discusses the relationship of the twelve apostles and the seventy.

I include here the General Authorities that also include the Relief Society leaders.

Become as a Little Child: If we have a heart to learn and a willingness to follow the example of children, their divine attributes can hold a key to unlocking our own spiritual growth.

Followers of Christ: Followers of Christ pattern their lives after the Savior to walk in the light.

The Atonement Covers All Pain: Our great personal challenge in mortality is to become “a saint through the atonement of Christ.”

Establishing a Christ-Centered Home: We understand and believe in the eternal nature of the family. This understanding and belief should inspire us to do everything in our power to establish a Christ-centered home.

Testimony: The fundamentals of gaining and retaining a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ are straightforward, clear, and within the capacity of every person.

Hope: Our hope in the Atonement empowers us with eternal perspective.

Sacred Keys of the Aaronic Priesthood: The Lord wants every Aaronic Priesthood holder to invite all to come unto Christ—beginning with his own family.

More Than Conquerors through Him That Loved Us: Trials are not just to test us. They are vitally important to the process of putting on the divine nature.

The Sanctifying Work of Welfare: The work of caring for one another and being “kind to the poor” is a sanctifying work, commanded of the Father.

The Lord’s Richest Blessings: As we pay our tithing faithfully, the Lord will open the windows of heaven and pour out upon us His richest blessings.

What Manner of Men and Women Ought Ye to Be?: May your efforts to develop Christlike attributes be successful so that His image may be engraven in your countenance and His attributes manifest in your behavior.

Called to Be Saints: How blessed we are to have been brought into this fellowship of the Latter-day Saints!

The Miracle of the Atonement: There is no sin or transgression, pain or sorrow, which is outside of the healing power of His Atonement.

I Believe in Being Honest and True: Being true to our beliefs—even when doing so isn’t popular, easy, or fun—keeps us safely on the path that leads to eternal life with our Heavenly Father.

Remember This: Kindness Begins with Me: Benevolence can bring joy and unity to your home, your class, your ward, and your school.

Guardians of Virtue: Prepare now so that you may qualify to receive all the blessings that await you in the Lord’s holy temples.

Stay on the Path: "As we hold on to our children and follow the Savior’s lead, we will all return to our heavenly home and be safe in our Heavenly Father’s arms."

Obedience To The Prophets: "What a great blessing it is to have prophets in our day!"

Gospel Learning and Teaching: "What matters most is the attitude or spirit by which the teacher teaches."

That Your Burdens May Be Light: "Burdens provide opportunities to practice virtues that contribute to eventual perfection." Listen.

Developing Good Judgment and Not Judging Others: Good judgment is needed not only in understanding people but also in facing decisions that often lead us to or away from our Heavenly Father.

Joseph Smith—Prophet of the Restoration: Through Joseph Smith have been restored all the powers, keys, teachings, and ordinances necessary for salvation and exaltation.

Hold On: Heavenly Father has not left us alone during our mortal probation. He has already given us all the “safety equipment” we will need to successfully return to Him.

A Call to the Rising Generation: There is no greater call than teaching “all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.”

Blessings of the Gospel Available to All: God’s children on the earth today have the opportunity to understand His plan of happiness for them more fully than at any other time.

Respect and Reverence: We must … cultivate in our homes and classrooms respect for each other and reverence for God.

Revealed Quorum Principles: Let us go forward in faith, confidence, and virtue, serving with Christ to help save our families and all of our Heavenly Father’s children.

Finding Strength in Challenging Times!: Having the capacity to receive personal inspiration will be necessary in the coming days.

Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ: In a household of faith, there is no need to fear or doubt. Choose to live by faith and not fear.

Faith in Adversity: Living the gospel … means that we will be prepared to face and endure adversity more confidently.

Get On with Our Lives: By listening to the prophets, keeping an eternal perspective, having faith, and being of good cheer, we can face life’s unexpected challenges.

His Arm Is Sufficient: "We seek to increase in faith and personal righteousness, strengthen our families and homes, and serve the Lord and His children."

Sacred Homes, Sacred Temples: Understanding the eternal nature of the temple will draw you to your family; understanding the eternal nature of the family will draw you to the temple.

Gifts to Help Us Navigate Our Life: We are not left alone. God has given us the necessary gifts to help us in our mortal experience.

His Servants, the Prophets: The Master speaks to us through His prophet.

Go Ye Therefore: We can all participate in missionary work. This is the Lord’s work, and He will help us do it.

Because My Father Read the Book of Mormon: I invite all who hear me today to read the Book of Mormon and to apply the promise it contains. Those who do will know that the book is true.

Even a Child Can Understand: God … has ensured that the truths regarding God are understandable to all His children, whatever their level of education or intellectual faculty.

The Way: There is only one way to happiness and fulfillment. Jesus Christ is the Way.

Arms of Safety: By coming humbly and fully repentant to sacrament meeting and worthily partaking of the sacrament, we may feel those arms [of safety] again and again.

Winning the War against Evil: You were entrusted to come to the earth in these last days to do again what you did before—to once again choose good over evil.

God Loves and Helps All of His Children: We need Heavenly Father’s help. Important sources of this help come through man’s service to his fellowman, through prayer, and through focus on Christ.

A Return to Virtue: Now is the time for each of us to arise and unfurl a banner to the world calling for a return to virtue.

Gospel Teaching—Our Most Important Calling: When we learn a few fundamental principles about teaching and are shown how to teach, all of us can do it.

Returning Home: What a tremendous impact we can make in the lives of so many … when we accept the Savior’s invitation to feed His sheep.

Testimony as a Process: To receive the witness of the “still small voice” sometimes can have a stronger impact on our testimonies than the visit of an angel.

Special Experiences: Our personal journey through life provides us with many special experiences that become building blocks of faith and testimony.

Righteous Traditions: Are the traditions that we are creating in our families going to make it easier for our children to follow the living prophets?

Restoring Faith in the Family: Stable families provide the fabric that holds society together, benefiting all mankind.

Opening Our Hearts: Let us make it a part of our everyday striving to open our hearts to the Spirit.

Service, a Divine Quality: Elder Carlos H. Amado; Those who serve will strive to ennoble, build, and lift their fellowmen.

Three Presiding High Priests: Wisdom and strength will come to us as we look to the First Presidency as our ideal and our pattern of leadership.

The Best Investment: If you always pay an honest tithing, the Lord will bless you. It will be the best investment you will ever make.

We Will Not Yield, We Cannot Yield: Live by your standards. Stand up for what you believe in.

The Power of Light and Truth: For us to prosper in these times, spiritual light must burn within us.

One among the Crowd: Let us quietly and resolutely press forward to the Savior, having faith that He cares about us and has the power to heal and save us.

Today: Provided we have so lived Today that we have claim on the Atonement’s cleansing grace, we will live forever with God.

A Book with a Promise: I pray that we will continue to use the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ to share the gospel message with family and friends.

The Nourishing Power of Hymns: Hymns play an essential role in spirituality, revelation, and conversion.

Commitment to the Lord: Now is the time to commit yourself to the Lord as to what you will become during this mortal probation.

Prophets—Pioneer and Modern Day: Both President Brigham Young and President Gordon B. Hinckley are prophets who have led the Church by inspiration and revelation.

If These Old Walls Could Talk: For more than a century, words of the latter-day prophets, seers, and revelators have gone forth from this podium to the world.

Gratitude: A Path to Happiness: Gratitude is a Spirit-filled principle. It opens our minds to a universe permeated with the richness of a living God.

Remember and Perish Not: Remembering in the way God intends is a fundamental and saving principle of the gospel.

A Lesson from the Book of Mormon: As first-generation members, you are the ones who begin the cycle of teaching and strengthening the next generation.

Do You Know? I invite you to “experiment upon my words.” Will you read and pray about the Joseph Smith story?

Mom, Are We Christians?: I am a devout Christian who is exceedingly fortunate to have greater knowledge of the true “doctrine of Christ” since my conversion to the restored Church.

Who’s on the Lord’s Side? If you will remain on the Lord’s side of the line, the adversary cannot come there to tempt you.

Will a Man Rob God?: When you and I pay honest, true tithes to the Lord, the Lord will open the windows of heaven.
