The Purpose of Life Is To Trust God

"It seems clear that the essence of our duty and the fundamental requirement of our mortal life is captured in these brief phrases from any number of scenes in the Savior's mortal ministry. He is saying to us, "Trust me, learn of me, do what I do. Then, when you walk where I am going," He says, "we can talk about where you are going, and the problems you face and the troubles you have. If you will follow me, I will lead you out of darkness," He promises. "I will give you answers to your prayers. I will give you rest to your souls." Broken Things To Mend; Jeffrey R. Holland

The key to everything in life is to trust God, but that can be incredibly difficult. The more we know about Him the easier it becomes. The more experiences we have with Him through the Holy Ghost, the easier it is to trust God.

There are many obstacles in trusting God. Satan is the biggest obstacle. He is constantly telling us that there is something or someone more important than God. He wants you to not know or forget the truth that if you draw near unto God, He will draw near unto you. Disobedience and sin make it harder to trust God. Sin and disobedience drives the spirit away. It is so much easier to trust God when you are feeling the Holy Ghost.

It is not hard to find God but it does require work. All you have to do is open your books of scripture and read. Don't expect much with a casual reading. He says you will find Him after diligently seeking after Him. You will have a hard time finding Him with a casual reading.

Trusting In God Is The Fundamental Requirement Of Our Mortal LifeIt is at the core of who we are and where we are going. You can approach life in two ways; your way or God's way. Our way seems much easier. The General Authorities have said that we should consider our lives as a mission and not a career. We all make plans for our lives, but God often has other plans for us. Trusting in God means completely submitting to Him. It is also true that we are to be engaged in righteous causes and not be commanded in all things.

God's way may also not be others way. Peer pressure is not just a junior high and high school problem.

Turn to God first and then worry about your problems. The apostles have said the gospel has the answer to every personal and world problem. The way to find answers to your problem any problem, it doesn't matter what it is, is always the same. Turn to the word of God. The Holy Ghost will tell you what to do about your problem as you are reading. The apostles have said you will not see necessarily see the answer in black and white, but the The Holy Ghost will help you read between the lines and see what is not written.

Trusting In God Is The Essence Of Our Duty

God desires that all men might be saved. Trusting God requires faith. You can't please God without faith. Without faith you can't be saved.

I Will Give You Answers To Your Prayers

Receiving personal revelation is a huge blessing. Realizing your righteous desires according to God's will brings a feeling of immense joy. The apostles have admonished us to pray that we would know Jesus is the Christ. When you know Jesus is literally the Son of God with all the exact same attributes and powers as God the Father, you have complete confidence in Him.
